Obsolete Video

You are watching one of my obsolete videos.  The videos are still available to provide info for those building their own systems, but my newest system, while not the cheapest is FAR easier to use and more trouble free.  Links to the obsolete and newest systems are given below.

Here are my 4 telescope setup systems:

How To Set Up A Meade 12 Inch Telescope (OBSOLETE):  This is the most expensive system, and the most difficult to build.  It uses a garden cart, hydraulic lift cart, a 12-volt winch, and 2 motorcycle ramps (or a plywood ramp).  The winch is trouble-prone - the cable tends to run off the side of the reel and get stuck.  It takes about 20-30 minutes to set up the telescope, when you don't have problems.

Economical System To Transport And Set Up The Meade 12 Telescope(OBSOLETE):  This is the cheapest system, but restricts you to setting up the telescope immediately behind your vehicle.  You need the 2 carts to load/unload the telescope into your vehicle at home, but don't need them to set up the telescope for observing.  It takes between 15 and 30 minutes to set up the telescope.  If you have to move your vehicle while observing, you must precisely position it to load the telescope.

Set Up The Meade 12 Without Lifting It:  This system uses the same 2 carts, but doesn't use the winch.  It takes about 10 minutes to set up the telescope.

How To Set Up Meade 12 Inch Telescopes Without Help:  This system is far easier to use and more trouble free than the other systems, and is the fastest system for setting up the telescope.  This system works very well for setting up either the LX200 or LX600 telescopes.  The other systems are described entirely in videos.  This system is described on my website, supplemented by photos and YouTube videos.
